NUMMI was an out-group from a venture between Toyota, a Japan-based company and the American based Company the General Motors (GM). These two Companies established the partnership so that the Japanese company could find it easy to make and sell their cars to the American market. In return, Toyota taught the GM workers and executives their secret on making and producing high-quality cars such as the Nova which was first produced in 1984. This paper provides reasons why out-groups form.
The most severe problem threatening every living organism on Earth today is the global warming/climate change. Historically, Climate change has been changing periodically due to various reasons such as the change in the Earth’s orbit. Today, the Earth is exhibiting drastic changes in climate due to human-related attributes.
The topic I would wish to delve on is personality. It is a set of individual characteristics, which includes patterns of thinking, feeling and acting (Bleidorn, Hopwood & Lucas, 2018). Personality, therefore, tends to be permanent and therefore can be used to describe an individual because a consistent behavior is expected of him or her under specific circumstances. There are a number of influences on personality. Looking at the textbook, many psychologists were of the view that personality is shaped right from when one is young.
“Play” is no ordinary word to the sociologist as they know too well that the word has an in-depth meaning. The activity has multiple advantages for both children and adults. Through play, children are able to develop their intellectual, physical, emotional, social and moral capacities. Also, play enables children to interact and engage with the world that surrounds them.
The law gives the police the right to employ legitimate force whenever necessary to ensure apprehension and to maintain peace and order. Indeed, the law grants the police officers the privilege of employing non-negotiable force to control the behavior of citizens and guarantee public order (HMH, 2016).
The sociological perspective that best fits the case of Michael Hugh Mirsky is functionalism which states that different aspects of the society, such as law enforcers and employers, are interdependent and they work together to promote the overall well-being of the community (Harris 4).
