Interpublic Group Scholarship and Internship

This scholarship is awarded to ethnically diverse students who are currently college juniors and have demonstrated interest in a career in advertising or public relations. Applicants must be able to fulfill a paid internship during the summer prior to the academic year the scholarship is awarded. The candidate has to be a US citizen or permanent resident who lives in NY, NJ, CT, or PA, or be attending a school in New York state; must have a minimum of 3.2 GPA; be available for an in-person interview in March.

Joseph A. Towles African Study Abroad Scholarship

The program provides financial help for students at UNCF institutions to learn at an established university with the continent of Africa. Candidates have to be African-Americans; have a minimum of 3.0 GPA; be legal US residents, and be either sophomore, junior, or masters-level students.

Leon Bradley Scholarship

This scholarship aims to encourage more minorities or persons of color to enter the field of teaching and school leadership. It is a valuable experience for all students to be in a diverse environment during their studies and see various educators who serve as role models for students.

Mae & Mary Scholarship Fund

This charitable educational organization is dedicated to the advancement of African Americans pursuing careers in medical and healthcare-related fields. The candidate has to be an African American, graduating high school senior who plans on attending a two-year or four-year university or technical school and pursuing a career in the health care profession.

Mamie Earl Sells Scholarship Fund

This fund provides financial help to African-American female Greater Cincinnati high school seniors entering a post-secondary institution. Candidates are assessed on academic record, personal challenges and hardships, ACT and/or SAT scores, letters of recommendation, class rank, honors and awards, involvement in extra-curricular activities and community service, and employment history.

Minority Teacher Education Scholarship

It is a collaborative performance-based scholarship program for African-American, Hispanic-American, Asian-American, and Native American students. The participants in this program include Florida’s Florida College System institutions and its public and private universities that have teacher education programs. Candidates have to be residents of the State of Florida and be representatives of racial minorities; be admitted into a teacher education program at any of FFMT’s participating universities/colleges and be junior, senior, or graduate students that have not earned a baccalaureate degree in education.

Minority Teachers of Illinois Scholarship Program

The applicants for this program must:

• be US citizens or eligible non-citizens or meet the “undocumented student” criteria of the RISE act;
• be residents of Illinois;
• be minority students of either African American/Black, Hispanic American, Asian American, or Native American origin;
• be high school graduates or hold a GED;
• be enrolled or accepted for enrollment at an Illinois institution of higher education in the course of study which, upon completion, qualifies him/her to be licensed as a preschool, elementary or secondary school teacher by the Illinois State Board of Education, including alternative teacher licensure;
• have a GPA of 2.5.

Morgan Stanley Richard B. Fisher Scholarship Program

This scholarship aims to provide outstanding black, Hispanic, Native American, and LGBT students with a financial award for exceptional academic accomplishment and a summer internship the summer prior to their junior or senior year in college. Candidates have to be currently enrolled as sophomores or juniors at an undergraduate institution.

MPower Artist Grants

This program is designed to empower alumni of the Sphinx Competition, Sphinx Symphony, Sphinx Virtuosi, Sphinx Performance Academy, Sphinx Medals of Excellence, and EXIGENCE to achieve their career goals in classical music through granting competitive scholarships. Grants range based upon the scope, need, and nature of every competitive application. The main component of the application process is a 150 words Project description. It is initially reviewed by a subcommittee and submitted to the final panel for further consideration. Alumni applicants must be in good standing. No applicant can submit more than two applications.

NACME Scholars (Block Grant) Program

This program provides block grants to colleges and universities that, in turn, award the money to talented African American, American Indian, and Latino students enrolled in engineering programs as part of their financial aid packages. The program assists partner institutions who enroll students from three sources – first-year students identified by NACME or the partner universities, transfer students from two-year colleges, and currently enrolled students who have completed at least one year of engineering study.

National Association of the Church of God Scholarship

This one is a full-tuition scholarship, renewable over four years, that combines with any merit-based scholarships. The candidates have to be existing members of the National Association of the Church of God and submit a FAFSA.

National Black MBA Association Graduate Scholarships

Candidates for different types of graduate-level scholarships at NBMBAA-partner Universities must be financially active members of the NBMBAA and be US citizens. Additional criteria may be required for specific scholarships.
